This is in very good and little used condition, as I have 3 more pedelecs. New in 2012, 3 speed shimano hub gearing, Panasonic 26v crank drive, mudguards and pannier rack, hub dynamo lighting and upgraded with Swalbe marathon plus tyres.

Brooks saddle included for full asking price, otherwise deduct £40 and fit your own.

Original 8AH battery has fault, just out of guarantee. Now fitted with a 10Ah battery showing 5 lights.

Delivery within 40 miles of Blaydon on Tyne can be organised for £15. Also by rail on East Coast line between Doncaster and Edinburgh may be possible for rail fare.

Cash on collection preferred.

Price £800 (new price £1,600)2014-10-21 001 048.jpg 2014-10-21 001 050.jpg 2014-10-21 001 057.jpg 2014-10-21 001 055.jpg 2014-10-21 001 053.jpg 2014-10-21 001 058.jpg 2014-10-21 001 048.jpg 2014-10-21 001 050.jpg 2014-10-21 001 057.jpg 2014-10-21 001 055.jpg 2014-10-21 001 053.jpg 2014-10-21 001 058.jpg

Hi,
Is the 10A battery a brand new one? Hearing that the original failed so soon is slightly disturbing

Hi Trev,

I agree this battery failure was an unwelcome surprise to me too.

The 10Ah is not brand new one, it has had some use on another bike, rarely fully discharged, usually topped up after 12 mile trip, approx 50% of range.

As I said it still shows 5 lights on being charged.

I have two 10Ah, one 12Ah and one 18 AH 26 v batteries as I have 2 more Raleigh Dover bikes, absolutely no problems with them.

This is an unfortunate one off I think. Do fellow members agree?

Maybe I've been unlucky but I've had two battery problems with two different bikes in the last six months. You read about people who have reliable bikes and don't have any electrical problems for years but it hasn't been my experience.

go on Stephen - I can't resist it! - 4 pedalecs? - what sort of range are you getting with the 10 am hour battery?

John
Hi John,

The 10AH battery on medium setting or 50% assistance gives me a range of between 20 and 25 miles, mainly dependent on how much hill climbing I do.

My usual ride is 12 miles, using 2-3 of the 5 lights, I then fully charge the battery and return.

Is this what you expected?
