I have been following the forum for a number of months and obtained a boat load of information and advice about various bikes, thanks to all the unknown advisors! I am now ready to take the plunge but ,as with a lot of folk I am, torn between two. The Raleigh Velo XC cross bar or the Woosh Sirocco 2. The Raleigh is rather more expensive (£999 v £600/£700) but I can buy it locally and thus have local support in case of problems. Having said that, Woosh seem to offer a good back up from distance (well they say so on on paper anyway).
Do the quality of Raleigh components justify the price tag?

I have ridden both and the Raleigh has a better feel, but not so much to be a deal maker.

Any advice gratefully accepted.

you've ridden both, go with your heart.
The Sirocco 2 has evolved a little since its introduction two years ago. The current Sirocco 2 has Promax adjustable stem (same as on the Velo XC crossbar), throttle on the left grip, 7-speed revoshift on the right grip and kevlar tyres, so may be slightly different from the one you tried.
