Recell Heinzmann lithium battery?

I thought I'd really lost some stamina cycling the dogs to a favourite walk yesterday, until I switched battery to return home and almost flew home! I've had the retrofit Heinzmann kit for 6 or 7 years and it is used at least twice a day so the original battery has done some sterling work. I was wondering if it was something I could train in for a new one and found a previous thread mentioning recelling but I can't find anything else about it, I don't even know if it is even possible with lithium cells.
