I am organising a 'Try an e bike' open day at Redbridge, East London, on Sunday 24th August from 12.30 pm onwards. Whether a complete newbie or seasoned rider, just curious or highly motivated, you will be very welcome. Fellow traders are warmly invited to bring their bikes along too so everyone can try a bit of everything. There is no charge - the event is on me.
Redbridge is a great venue. 20 minutes from the M25 east side, all facilities (free parking, loos, cafe etc) and above all a fantastic bike circuit with hills. Anyone with a longish journey or camping car could make a weekend of it as the following day is Bank Holiday Monday - not too many nice places to stay in Redbridge itself but north Essex is pretty, with campsites and Cambridge is only 45 minutes up the M11.
If you think you might like to come it would be good to know - just send a quick post here.

Well, think I'll give it a go! With Hainault (or Fairlop) at the other end of the Central Line, it'd be a lot easier for me to get to than Southend.

It'll be interesting to see which makes turn up as well as Woosh. Let's just hope the weather co-operates!

It's the best place I know to try out bikes without having to worry about traffic so I think Hatti's day ought to be well-supported by the ebike, (and wider) cycling community. I reckon this is the venue that should be established as the home of a major annual event for the whole ebike business. It seems to me to be the right size, (we couldn't fill the NEC or Earls' Court!) and of course, all major roads and rail lines lead to the capital.

For those who are unfamiliar with the area, I agree with Hatti that parts of Essex are really pretty and there are one or two decent beaches, nice little fishing villages and good pubs if one can make the trip a long weekend. It may surprise some of you but Essex has the longest coastline of any English county.

Cambridge is one of my favourite places but I'm not quite sure which Woosh model gets from Redbridge to there in 45 minutes! Colchester and Chelmsford are also worth a visit and of course, London itself has much to offer.

It would be nice if the biggest range of ebike brands ever assembled in one place could be there, available for test-rides but at short notice, that's probably impossible logistically, especially for what remains a cottage industry. I'm not sure if I'll be back in England in time for it but I'll be there if I am.

I really hope it goes well for you Hatti.

This is debatable, Kent and Cornwall also have claims to this title.
