The head light cable has broke at the light end. on a scale of 1 to new bike day, anyone know how to replace it and how difficult it is? I've got a spare cable but I assume the brains are in the down tube.

What about solder the two broken ends together?

What about buying a rechargeable light, which will be 100 times better than that crappy one and will be a lot cheaper than a new bike?

We could give much more specific advice if you would show us exactly what the problem is.

Yes, there's nothing special about the light, the switching is done in the controller, there's just a + and - wire from the controller that either has a voltage or not

It's more the location, the connection box is in the down tube and I worry about getting it all back together again.

Yeah, got one. Not sure how difficult it is to open the bit of the downtube the controller is stored in and swap it out without bricking the rest of the bike.
Can you show some photos ? The earlier version Wispers were quite simple to work on

Hi Peter, as long as the connectors are the same it's very easy. If Mcgres wants to fit a new light to the controller, he needs to ensure that the lamp is the correct Voltage and the cable is long enough.

All the best, David

Have you got any pictures of the inside of the bit above? Just for a bit of advanced warning before I open it up.

Opened that bit, didn't like what I seen and bottled it.

Went out put it together and I've lost one of the bloody screws!

Going to find a away of getting a soldering iron down to the garden and splice the old cable with the new cable and connector unless someone can point me at those connectors in their raw form.
