Hi guys, I'm new to ebikes and recovering from a knee injury so figured an ebike is a good way to ease into cycling by commuting when the weather is nice.
A local guy is selling a Carrera Vulcan which I'm considering for my 25 mile commute but he says the battery only has 2 bars out of 4 health but charges fine. I figure that may be enough to get me most if not half the way to work (12 miles) on full/medium assist where I can charge. Then at some point maybe later in the year I can buy a replacement battery.
Looking at the specs it looks like the Carrera Vulcan uses a Joytech 36v 11.5Ah rated at 417Wh (JCEB360-11.5). There are quite a few similar spec batteries on Amazon but no idea if these are compatible or even fit. Anyone able to help?
If it's only going to be 2-300 for a new battery and I can get by with the battery for this year then that would work. Little nervous about buying a new bike and having it stolen or just deciding I don't enjoy it. A used bike seems good while I work out how much I am going to use it.
