Retired,got mobility issues. Family bought ebike. Haven't looked back.

Hi,
I'm trying to rebuild oldish Wisper905. Still unpowered. Rides forward great but cannot wheel it backwards .Pedals reverse OK.
Assuming maybe motor gearing problem. Any ideas where to start?

your motor seems to have seized up.
If that's the case, you need to open the motor.

I haven't taken possession of battery yet to assess it's condition so trying to get some ideas on the motor problem in the mean time. assumed motor was seized until someone said they had heard it was a factor on some ebikes.
