Ridgeback Arcus 1 2021?

Featured Replies

I am researching my first ebike and this forum is really helpful - thanks for the various contributions which I have been reading.

I looked at the Raleigh Felix in Halfords but they don't allow customers to try out the bikes at the moment so I decided not to go with that one.

An alternative is a Ridgeback Arcus 1 that another shop did allow me to test cycle - I liked the feel of the bike.

Does anyone have any experience with the Ridgeback brand/the Arcus 1? It's not one I am familiar with but it fits my budget.

I can recommend the brand. I am still using regularly a Ridgeback (non-electric) that I bought nearly eight years ago and have ridden thousands of miles on it. It has been a superb machine.

Thanks for that!

Seems a bit overpriced for the spec. to me. I know demand is high and stocks are low at present, but I think you can do better for the money.

Yes, looks quite expensive for what it is; quite small battery, looks like cable brakes, not specially powerful motor. You could probably get better cheaper from Woosh (https://wooshbikes.co.uk/), Wisper or similar. You may have difficulty test riding those unless you happen to live close; and not so much choice of sizes.

This looks like a better option and price if the size is ok for you.
