You will have seen Expat's posting about the delay in the much hyped Schwinn due to quality problems, here's the evidence following A to B's receipt of one for review, in this mail received from David this morning:
"it's fundamentally flawed - the low power is too low, the high too confusingly variable, and on the Europe models the power cuts off at exactly 15mph, which is annoying and probably illegal as it's supposed to decay gradually. I did a ten mile ride, and it kept up a reasonable speed with full boost all the time, but it then cut out on the (only) hill. Came back after ten minutes, but all the fuel lights were all over the place, etc etc. Obviously not market ready."
Naturally don't buy one off the ebay outlet at present, and best not until we have some proof that it's any good.
As I always say, hype is a poor substitute for honest realistic design and proof of performance.
