Anyone know of a bike shop that will service my electric bike? I live in Irvine so anywhere in Ayr, Kilmarnock, Paisley would be useful; Glasgow would be a pain but possible.

Thanks

Hi Andy,

Welcome to the forum.

Does the bike have a problem with the electrics or is it just a general cycle service that you are looking for?

There are lots of people on here who offer helpful advice if are will and able to perform the task yourself.

If could let us know the make and model someone might able to point you to a local shop.

Hi, thanks for the welcome. My bike is a Moskino Eagle, now over 5 years old. I used it everyday for three years but, since I retired, it has only been used occasionally. Now, my grandson want to use it for the daily commute. The bike is still working well but I would like it to get a good service - I am no bike mechanic - before he uses it. Probably don't need a specialist in Ebikes as it is the "bicycle" components that need attention but I would like the electronics checked if possible.

Three years of hard use and two years of occasional use; not bad for an "Italian" cheepo!

Hi Andy,
You have clearly had good service from your Moskino.
Don't want to disillusion you but the only Italian thing about the bike is it's name. All the parts would apper to be generic Chinese, but the positive side to that is parts availability.
Unfortunately, there does not seem to a lot electric bike specialists in the West of Scotland, hopefully someone from the forum may have better knowledge of where you can obtain help.
As you say, a good local bike shop would be able to take care of the normal cycle parts.

Not disillusioned; in fact, I am very happy with my Chinese bike. it was cheap and has been absolutely reliable and a pleasant ride. After a year of riding it I tried several off the more expensive models and really couldn't see why I would spend the extra.

I will probably just get a general service done by my local bike shop.
