I suppose it was inevitable now I am charging the battery on my Pro-connect every day. Got up to go to work in a bit of a daze and left the battery on the charger. Trouble is I've been cycling with the battery off till I get to my first hill about 2 miles from my house. I wimped out and went back for it, anyone else done it? Doh! :)

Yes Dave, on the Lafree I used to own.

Like you I always cycled without power until the first hill, on one route only a few hundred yards away, on another almost three miles away.

Yes, you've guessed it, it was the three mile one where I found out. :(

That was too far to return, so I walked the very steep hill and completed the round trip under my own steam.

I never did that again though, but have recently made a similar though different mistake which resulted in four miles of hardship without power. What that mistake was is too complicated to explain.

With my first electric bike I forgot to switch the charger on at work. When I realised it was already too late so I decided to peddle home anyway. By mile ten I had had enough and phoned 'er indoors to bring out another battery. Unfortunately she missed me in the traffic so I ended up cycling the rest of the journey home.

I never forgot to switch the charger on again, it was like cycling home through treacle! I could barely walk for two days :)

No it was the Lafree, hence my saying I always rode without power until the nearest hill. That's something only a Broadmoor escapee would do with a Quando.
