Our Woosh Zephyr B bikes have SIS Shimano gears, I read on the forum that people suggest you should cut the motor when changing gear, should I have to do that with mine?

No, you don't have to cut power to the motor when changing gear on your bike which has a rear hub drive. Only crank drive needs it.
