I have just driven through Cossall village on the outskirts of Nottingham and as I approached the village I saw a number of very bright rear lights in the distance. As I got closer, I saw that these lights were bright bicycle lights. Closer still and I noticed that all of the bikes were electric and had Panasonic power units. Even closer and I was able to tell that they were Raleigh models and all six looked very new.

I must say that the lights were excellent and marked them out on the road very well even though the sunlight was strong.

Were any of the riders forum members? Was it you?

Sounds like it might have been one of the e-bike tour company fleets with a group on an outing, could that be the case?

I would be surprised if it was flecc. The countryside is quite pleasant in that area, but its not a tourist area and there is better countryside not far away. The village has links to D.H Lawrence but thats about all.

The Raleigh distribution depot isn't far from where I saw the bikes, 3 to 4 miles at the most, so it could be something to do with them. The riders didn't look like official testers, some were quite elderly and seemed to be wandering around in the carriageway.

They would be testing the hills riding through Cossal Village :D
I used lived in the village when I was a boy and used to ride up those hills on my Raleigh Scorpio and later my Raleigh Record. It doesn't seem that long ago, but sadly it is a long time ago.

As a Raleigh main dealer all our bikes are based on Raleigh bikes mainly Diamondback

They have a full dealer showroom and demo Bikes you probably you see some dealers on demo rides

They DON'T do Retail there only Trade

They also have the public in including schools to try out there new products before the go into production to iron out the BUGS The Raleigh parts catalog is 271 pages long

so a lot off testing

What's the collective term?
A giggle? An ample? A shock of electric bikes?

That was my thought too, but it seemed to be so much like a fleet purchase. Perhaps Lloyd who runs Raleigh e-bike in the UK has been doing a hard sell to the immediate neighbours!
