I got a brand new, only built last month, battery for my Urban Mover bike last Friday and the base has 4 connections instead of the usual 2, turns out the extra two connections are because it has 'smart' circutry inside which keeps track of the amount of energy put in / drawn out and those 2 connections are so when the extra kit becomes available the capacity / energy left etc. can be monitored real time on the bike or plugged into a PC.
I've already put a small red LED digit voltage display in my lighting control box on my bike so it gives me an indication of capacity left, but very much looking forward to being able to properly monitor the battery usage on the bike
