The Smart rear light is very good. A colleague has one and it is very bright. I think it has a 0.5 Watt LED.

I had a set of these on my unpowered bike a few years back (2006/7). Whilst they aren't a bad set of lights the set I had seem prone to water ingress and failure/malfunctioning of the switch (to the point the lights would randomly turn on and drain the battery).

maybe thats why they are being sold off so cheaply now - I expect some of the brainy electronics / engineering types on here (about 90% of this forum it seems!) will probably find a solution anyway.
