I am thinking of retiring my Smarta Lx - after 16,000 miles (approx) -for something quieter, but as reliable and robust. Yesterday I tried two Smartmotion bikes at Take charge Bikes in Cheltenham. Was very impressed. Very `perky' motor. Anyone got any experience of these bikes - seems they are based on a design for NZ post service. Must be able to do 25 mile per day commute throughout year, mainly on A roads.
I am also considering Ansmann. Anyother suggestions welcome. Step-thru frame, upright ride. Small frame 44-48. Throttle if possible, but not essential. Price - up to £1500, so that rules out most crank drives, I would have thought.
