I did do a search on this site for information on LiMn2O4, but didn't find anything
In comparison with LiFeP04, cost not a factor, which one is the best for electric bike applications?

Lithium with manganese cathodes is second generation technology, we are currently on third generation compound cathode polymer batteries on the best bikes.

Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) is probably to be the fourth generation very soon and is already in use privately. Life is much better, probably good for at least three years and possibly as much as ten years, but maybe not the latter until further development.

Thanks flecc, i thought with the lack of info on it that LiMn2O4 was very new technology.
I'll steer well clear :)

The 204 may be a new variant, but I've never heard of it and the mainstream is as described.

It's just that i was browsing on Conhis Motor's website (shock horror) and i noticed that the LiMn2O4, on a like for like basis with LiFeP04, were a little more expensive

Odd, it may be that it is a new compound cathode polymer type but named in a different way, since there are very many compound mixes in use and new ones appearing from research regularly.

I'll drop them a line and ask for details.
Would be strange them charging more for older technology.

Yes, that is odd, but Conhis don't make them of course, so the two may come from very different quality manufacturers.

Very good point, if it was a better technology, i think we would have heard a lot more about it. Looks like LiFEP04 is leading the way for the future ;)
