Anyone know what motors are generally used with Speed Pedelecs and what sort of power they produce ?

Several different.

A lot of the European ones use the Bosch 350w unit.

Bosch 350W nominal, 500W max, about the same power as the BPM.

A speed pedelec could be any electric bike that assists past the 15mph (25km/h) limit. The worlds your oyster.

If I was in the market an A2B Shima would be nice. It has a 500w motor and can go up to 28mph, though unlike most A2Bs it does not come with a throttle.
