Just a remind about this nifty little device. I've had mine for a few years and just get it out for testing or when I want to know a bit more about what's going on with my system. They cost about £60 and transmit all the data to your android phone, so you can see a live view or you can download/upload the data afterwards for your records and detailed analysis. In the past, there were some connection issues with various phones, but I guess that's all sorted now with the latest software releases.

You can use them just to show battery info like a wattmeter if you want or you ca connect a wheel-speed sensor and get speed info as well like a bike computer or you can connect your throttle and pedal sensor to give it more control of your bike (instant legal settings). There's even a version that can alter the Bosch speed signal to release the speed limit.

You can see a lot more about what it can do here, where you can read through the android client manuals:for detailed explanations.

They have a new feature where you can upload the logged file to the cloud, then view it on their system like this

This plot shows what happened when I engaged low gear on my Xiongda to climb a steep hill. The cursor is not on the highest part, which is why it shows a lower current. You can see a spike when I increased to level 5 then a slight pause while it changed to low gear and then that high bit at about 15A where it was in low gear. When I reduced it to level 3 at the top of the hill, it goes down to about 5A. If you look at the left side of the graph, you can see how the current and power are more or less level at 5A and 250w because the controller uses current control rather than the normal speed control. The green line is the power and the purple one the speed.

You just connect it in between the battery and controller, so cut the wires and add a couple of pairs of Deans connectors. It's pretty small, but I dn't know if there's enough room in the compartment for it. There probably is. I should be able to confirm that in about a week.

I used to use speedict, but for some reasons they failed after some time.

I changed the speedict twice then the third time I decided not to keep using it.

I was using it at quite high voltage (76V), that may be the reason it failed
