I used this smartphone ap today. I started it and then put my phone in my pocket. 80km and 4 hours later, I took my phone out and saved the journey. This is the result. I'm impressed. My phone battery was still showing nearly full afterwards too.

Its a short steep (30%) windy hill. You can't cane it. You just hang on and concentrate and let gravity do its thing. In the right conditions, I reckon I could hit 50 mph, but I'd need a spotter on the first corner because it's very narrow, so you have to slow down in case a car is coming.

Well done on your ride and sharing it with us.

I've been trying Strava but will give this a try. How much capacity has your bike got to go 50miles, I guess non-stop and to last 4hrs. I get pain in the backside after just an hour ride :(

Quite the tour :). Does that work on GPS rather than needing to have a mobile phone signal (about 75% of where I ride has no signal at all) ?

As a matter of interest how many Wh did you use taking that journey at 12mph average ? Was heartened to get 32miles out of a measured 10Ah by dropping average speed to 18mph even in these hilly parts the other day so by calculation 50 should be possible out of the 20Ah battery with about 4Ah to spare even at that speed. But I keep thinking the battery SOC might drop too low before the clocked Ah had hit more than about 15 !

I get pain in the backside after just an hour ride :(
You could try a different saddle or just stick on some lycra padded shorts (as underwear if you don't want to join the 'fastline massive') ... I always wear them on rides over an hour especially on the mountain bike saddle and they really do help a lot.

It works with GPS. The only thing you need the phone signal for is to upload the results to Sports Tracker, which you can do any time after the journey, or you can use your wi-fi connection.

I was going up a steep hill on the GNG a couple of weeks ago, and suddenly the power dropped by about half. I've yet to investigate the cause. I don't have a meter on the battery.

What power I had, died down to virtually nothing during the second half of the journey. Voltage was lower than expected, but there was no sag, so I need to fit a wattmeter to see what's going on. I did the same journey on my Dahon last week. It felt a lot more powerful with Q100 motor, and I only used about 12 aH from two 9aH from batteries. When I got home this time, the 20aH battery was showing 35.5v. I have the same battery (like yours) on another bike, and confirmed that it can still give 30 amps even after 17aH discharge. I don't think I used that much.
