Just had a very pleasant hour and a half on the Thames path between Woolwich and Erith. Sunny, breezy, flowers flowering, trees treeing - all very acceptable.

17.5 miles at average of exactly 15 mph on low/medium assistance. 3 cheers for Haibike and Bosch.

Was lovely riding conditions today. Reset my chain, tuned my bike this morning and did 10 miles less glamorously out to B&Q and back ... but there were some nice paths round the back of the store with the wood anemones out under the trees which made for a delightful detour. Bike was happily back to cracking 20mph on the flat and did most of it at about 18mph so quite chuffed with feeling fitter. Sadly lost chain tension on the final couple of miles and even the starts were playing up after 8 miles so it's another wheel reset for my next ride, but was lovely whilst it lasted.

First day this year I've been able to comfortably cycle in a short sleeved non-wool jersey despite a bit of a headwind. Spring definitely sprung.

I also had a lovely 12 mile ride yesterday. However, because of the wind, I used the pedal assist on all of the ride. I would have gone a few miles further, but I felt a few spots of rain. My legs are getting stronger and I was very pleased that I had increased my average speed to 9.8 mph........still very slow compared to others lol. I tried to keep up with a teenage lad on a mountain bike, but I gave up trying as it was obvious I was wasting energy doing that..............maybe one day. Raining here today :(

If you make a photo of your drop-out on the chain side, check the size of the axle, and measure from the the centre of the axle to the back of the frame at right-angles to the edge of the frame, i'll make you a chain-adjuster so that it can't slip.

^^ Thanks d8veh. Once again really appreciate your offer. 50 Cycles have undertaken to get the matter resolved one way or another now so I'm going to give them a chance to do that and hope for the best for another week. Let's see.

Part 2; today, on the Thames between Woolwich and Greenwich. Sunny, breezy etc; 11 miles at average 11.5 mph.

That's the difference between Haibike/Bosch/Me and Cannondale/Me :(

Hi Hugh,

Sun is here at last, what's all this talk of 'Sunny, breezy, flowers flowering, trees' while I am stuck at work everyday? Just trying to make me jealous I suppose ;)

Glad the Haibike is treating you well.. I have a day off booked in 3 weeks, lets hope its a nice day so I can enjoy some riding too :)

Speak soon,

Martin

looks like less than 12mph ???? 17.5 mile in 1.5 hours............

if average is 15mph, then assume much of the ride was above assist level ???? or is this the dongle effect ??

regards
