That's only a bit over a "two for one" price level against the latest Agattu price!

Considering the replacement motor unit and a new battery cost together £825 currently, that's just £72.50 for a high quality German made bike. Amazing bargain.

on that page 2 people asked a question about the bike, 1 was 10 months old
But this page says 10+ in stock at the £897.50 price, so still seems to be valid, since Wiggle are usually good with their page stock updating.

These are last years models and I doubt they are just off the container but Tangent has just bought one and seems pleased enough. They have even updated the website as it originally said 8 speed when in fact it is the 7 speed.

Have just bit the bullet and ordered one. Not sure where I am going to keep it as I already have two. I don't drive so like a spare for work just in case. My husband sometimes uses the other.

Flecc my current bike in use is an 8 speed Gazelle which I have had the 18 tooth sprocket put on. Will this bike benefit like the gazelle from a mod to the sprocket and if so what size teeth baring in mind that it is 7 speed.

Thanks Marina

18 tooth again Marina, that keeps the consumption reasonable and the performance will be about the same as with the 8 speed hub.

Pleased enough until now! Perhaps I should buy another and send back the one I bought last week for £1167.

I doubt much of it is German made, German assembled maybe.

Frame, forks, rims, tyres etc all German made, but as usual, brakes are Shimano or Magura, gears are Shimano or in one case SRAM. The motor unit and battery are Japanese Panasonic of course.

Derby Cycles pedelec production in Germany apparently exceeds 50,000 a year now, so no problem with bulk manufacture in Germany, especially with the current very unfavourable exchange rates with China.

Yes, Wiggle and I have come to a satisfactory arrangement on the price I paid - happy again now and thanks HarryB for posting the new price here!

I think this is an astonishing bargain. I paid £900 6 years ago for a 3 speed Giant Lafree Twist. Upgrading to an Alfine 8 using a pre-built wheel, new shifter, etc. from Wiggle would only add about £300. I think I might wait until the Alfine 11 comes out in the autumn though.

Don't quite understand why you need all those extra and expensive gears on an electric bike Tangent:confused: It is very easy to change the rear sprocket if you want more speed and only costs a few pounds, not hundreds.

I will change the sprocket anyway, but after a week of testing, I must say that I do not like the 7 speed hub much. It does not shift anywhere near as well as the Shimano Nexus 8 on my other bike and I know this will become increasingly irritating.

I Thought they might as it was only a few days since you bought the bike. How long did it take from order to get your bike, and do they let you know what day it will arrive.

Thanks Marina

An electric bike benefits from better gears just like a normal bike, I've just started using the Alfine hub and the gear range means it is good for 5-50mph. I'd never considered hub gears before but the Alfine has converted me,
