Hi all,
Recently bought this bike (below) and right from the start it seems the throttle control has a mind of it`s own.
Not only will it suddenly cut out for 30 seconds or so it will then cut in again just when you don`t need it and you have to be a bit sharpish on the brakes.
Any suggestions as to what`s causing this?
It`s looks a fairly common generic chinese spec, 3 stage assist, 48V battery etc..

Try unplugging the brake cutouts - it may be they are cutting in and out incorrectly which would make your throttle behave oddly

If it works perfectly on throttle with the cutouts disconnected then you found the problem

Otherwise It may just be a bad connection on throttle itself. Just unplug it and plug back again

After this you will need a multimeter for further tests. Do you have one ?

Will check out those suggestions, thanks,
Yes have a multimeter.

The other thing which i think shouldn`t happen is there is power from the throttle at standstill, i mean i don`t have to rotate the pedals 3/4 times as indicated in the instructions??

That may just be a mistranslation from Chinese

With low powered hubs it is often advised to be doing 3 or 4 mph before engaging motor

My 8fun advises this but the throttle will function from standstill
