I wonder how the battery compartment would cope with the humid British weather (condensation, heavy rain, etc.) Anyway, I bet that the top-of-the-range Wisper offering is a cheaper and safer purchase (UK-based after sales support, standard battery, etc.) :)
PS: I don't think that converting from CHF to GBP gives an accurate representation how much one would actually have to pay for this e-bike in the UK ;)

I pass through Switzerland most summers...If I could get one VAT free (outside the EU)

Of course you are perfectly correct and I will probably stick with Wisper.

Now, a RED carbon fibre 906xc...... Oh Lordy!:D

2400 Pounds? For 500 Watts? For Something So Stealthy? And With The Way It Looks Compared To The Plain Ugly Kalkhoff And Challenged Looking Wispers, Etc (soory Lads)? Bargain?! If I Could Source One Easily I'd Buy It Yesterday.

Be still my beating heart! That is one beautiful mother of a machine...hope there's a UK dealership soon.

Does anyone know what motor it has? I like the fact it can take a 9sp cassette.

Frame integrated batteries could well become more common, you may even see one in a famous name e-bike frame next year. ;)

In a sense the longest lived e-bike around had frame integration of sorts from over ten years ago, I'm speaking of the traditional heavy Powabyke of course.

Of particular interest is the method of cable entry into the hub motor. If the rear axle is solid, as it appears to be, it would make an excellent trail bike.

It's virtually certain to be if it uses a 9 speed cassette and not a freewheel. Spindle cable entry motors have larger diameter 12 mm spindles that cannot use cassettes and have to use multi-sprocket freewheels.

I think it's very likely to be a direct drive motor, so not all good news. For those of us with steep hills, it will either be no good on them or eat juice at a voracious rate so have a very short range. Internally geared motors are usually smaller diameter and too wide to have a 9 speed cassette and side plate entry for the cabling.

It's easy to make a dream machine on looks alone, and that is certainly one. It's far more difficult to make it fully practical, especially at such a relatively low price.

With a few modifications of the Panasonic System, I can see this approach working with Kalkhoff and similar type bikes.
