Suntours Carrera /Raleigh motors

Hi Guys

I have had some enquiries on e bay asking when the Suntours Rear hub motors spin in the hub is it usually the inside of the outer hub casing that wares out or is it the part of the motor that spins when engaged making contact with the hub .

I do not have any engineers calliper’s to check on one I have here as I am breaking not mending

The only one I heard about was when the left side adapter/torque resistor thing broke.

Not sure what that is .

Had a Quick Look at the movements , I do not think the nylon gears effect the outer hub , they seem to move what looks like an Ali ring on the right angle .

My guess would be this is the bit that wares out .

I will have another look in the morning and look at a 2025 motor a delivery guy burnt out that was doing just that spinning and burning hot in the hub .

I think Carrera or Suntours are over all a very poor design for the cost all the e parts
