Four questions, if you have time? Thank you:

1. I am wondering how many electric bikes are sold in the UK each year?

2. Like, what is the prediction for 2010?

3. And how does that breakdown between <£1000 and £1000+ purchases.

4. And do people buy from the web or from bike shops or from specialist electric bike outlets?

Not any help with the statistics I am afraid or expert opinion! lol. if you just want to shift cartons then it is a hairy buisness and lots of these on ebay.

If you can come up with a light'ish well specified bike with the warranty and support which is vital with this sort of product you should be OK. as an aside if you could get the battery within the frame keeping the wheelbase and look of a conventional bike IMO that would be welcome as well

The problem is without service/warranty centres or relationships established with LBS willing to work on your bikes, (unless the quality is spot on - unlikely with a new product) you will have problems. if faults are left for any length of time your reputation will suffer and that will be difficult for you..........

Daniels link is interesting ...have never seen this stuff before.
