I have a front hub motor (Tongxin) in a hybrid with no suspension and am thinking to get a new hybrid with front suspension. I am assuming that the hub it going to like the smoother ride?

The motor is still going to take the impact of bumps so I don't see how its going to get a smoother ride...

surely the suspension will isolate the motor to a degree......If its a decent one that is

I guess the motor is isolated from percussive thumps of the rider and frame, but still suffers the road lumps and bumps.

Suspension on a front hub actually works better to a certain degree if the suspension was designed for it.

Reason being, instead of pedal power being transmitted through the rear and giving a fair amount of weight movement on the front suspension. The motor delivers linear power and thus the travel sits at the correct sag and absorbs bumps. . . . In theory.

Problem is front suspension push bikes arn't designed to take additional heavy front hub wheels and thus and re bound and dampening is hindered.

Suspension is always a compromise no matter what you do.

Will still be better on your comfort than without.

Front suspension will make no difference at all to the motor. It will remain an unsprung mass and suffer the same acceleration forces as a bike without suspension fitted.
