Hi all, I plan to swap out the BMS in my 8fun battery (which I think is fried) with a new one from BMS battery (image).

I have some basic soldering skills and plenty of determination buts that's where my abilities end.. Any advice or previous threads dealing with this would be really appreciated.

Do I need also new throttle/controller or will my 8fun kit ones work?

thanks in advance

Firstly, you need to find out why your battery isn't working otherwise you'll go to a lot of trouble for nothing. Why do you think that the BMS is fried?

Your present BMS seems to have a lot of extra features. Is it the type with the USB connector?

The new one has two sockets for the sense wires, while as your old one has one. That'll make swapping much more complicated. Also, the sockets for the switch and LED panel are different.

With basic soldering skills, the new BMS should be easy to fit, but you'll have to chuck a lot ofyour original wiring. It's just the split sense-wire connector that presents a problem.
