I was a little disappointed with the mileage i was getting from my Agattu (new in December) flecc said ''wait until the weather warms up and you get a much better range''
Went out today in the glorious sunshine and did a 13 mile round trip, the meter on the battery only dropped one light, i was well impressed, can't wait untill it really warms up :D

God to hear the confirmation Ed. You can see how it's possible to get even 50 miles from one of these bikes in good conditions and 35 miles is normal.

Batteries hate the cold.

Teasing me about my lousing typing ability!

At least it adds some amusement for members. :D

Indeed, they amuse me too, as does the fact that despite being so very capable in many diverse areas, I'm utterly unable to type reasonably despite years of desultory trying.

Mind you, I can't write either, attempts at that look like the outcome of a spider escaping across the paper after falling into an inkwell. :(

More (S)miles

Went out again today, added another 14.5 miles by a different route, grand total now.milage.jpg
Still 2 lights showing on the battery (only one on the hand control)
What great mileage considering it towing a 16+ stone lump about.
Took flecc's advice again, kept the cadence higher, torque lower with my speedy front chainwheel.

would it be worth 'heating' the battery slighty in cold conditions? Maybe an insulated battery box with some chemical heat pads (for bad backs) stuck inside the box....

A few people have tried protective jackets but with little success, the cold creeping in very quickly.

Chemical heat might help, I'm not aware of anyone trying it, but too much heat can shorten a battery's life.
