Testing Khalkhoff battery

I have a 15ah impulse battery pack, which seems to be under performing, its not had heavy use,but is near enough 2 yrs old,, it has gone down from giving me a nominal 80 mile range to 40 mile range,.
I have had issues with 50 cycles when bought from them as a ex demo bike, when the original batt failed, did get sent a replacement after a lot of hassle, which I assumed to be a new one.

Have done the advised run empty/recharge cycle,now when pressing the test button on the pack, get all 5 LEDS ,then get 3 LEDs to show the range, have done maybe 1,500 miles with it.

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get it tested,? Would not want to go back to 50 cycles with it as I am not impressed with their after sales service, as the bike is out of warranty,and don't believe they will resolve it to satisfaction .

The five LEDs indicate a full charge. The three LEDs indicate the range, so only have 60% of the original capacity left in the battery.

Therefore, maybe a range of 40 miles is expected for such remaining capacity.

After 1,500 miles (very small mileage for an electric bike), it's not normal that the battery capacity degraded so much, particularly if it was well looked after.

If the bike is out of warranty, I don't think you will get anywhere with 50 Cycles, as once they have sold a bike, their after sale service is not that great.

You can still try to mention to them that the battery should have lasted much longer and is therefore not fit for purpose or of expected quality.

Under the SOGA rules, you are then entitled to a replacement, or go after them to recover the cost of a replacement bought elsewhere. A new 15Ah battery would cost you £600 or more, so not a small amount of money...
