A collectors piece, one the last two e-bikes made in Britain, and the only one wholly made here with no large scale Oriental content.

Judging by other British manufacturing flops, I can guess what the quality of this bike is like

They weren't that bad. Driving through the gears, hills were no problem and they could have a fair turn of speed. They were one of the longest lived of any e-bike design, over twice as long in production as Powabykes and three times as long as the Giant Lafree:

There is an old chap living near to me who has been riding one of these things for years, possibly in excess of 10 if my memory is correct. It goes like the wind, and was the first ebike that I became aware of.

He rode it into a park bench and went over the handlebars a few weeks ago whilst showboating to a group of teenagers, which was rather hilarious. Its obviously not put him off because I saw it parked outside the library last week. In fact I took a couple of photographs of it.

They seem a little agricultural in construction, but I can't fault it for speed / power and longevity.

I'll try and post the pictures I took later.

If anyone bids, bear in mind that they went out of production two years back and there may be no spares available, TGA having dropped all mention of it. They are a mobility vehicle company.

It's the added drive and control parts that are the potential problem though.

I did hear a rumour that the bosch unit was developed from an Audi power steering motor....No idea if any truth in it as comment's were not backed up by anyone else......

I have found the pictures that I took of what I think is a TGA electric bike.

This machine has been around our local town for years and was the first bike that I became aware of. This is the bike which made me curious about bikes in the first place. It is equipped with two SLA batteries in the panniers, seems to operate on throttle only and is capable of a fair turn of speed. I suppose it is Mk1 Tonaro? Is that fair?

It is similar to the Tonaro in respect of it having a right angle drive in-line motor, though the Yamaha/Aprilia/Lafree mk 1/Tonaro systems drive the pedal shaft. The TGA, like the forward mounted Cyclone version, drives a chain directly.
