The Bafang G06 motor. How does it compare with the BPM?

I understand that the G06 motor is for fat bikes. It looks like Bafang have stopped making the BPM and now produce the G06 instead. I saw that the Woosh Rio FB has a G06 motor, whereas the Big Bear (I am an owner of one) has a BPM and also a more powerful controller. Does the G06 deliver as much power and torque as the BPM assuming there is an equivalent controller?

How much power any motor delivers depends more on how much power you put into it than the motor itself. For those two motors, assuming a similar winding speed because they both come in a range of speeds, performance would be approximately the same if you used the same controller and battery.

yes, but on paper, the G06 has higher maximum torque.
On the bike, the G06 seems a bit quieter to me.

Why is it that the Rio FB only has a 17A controller? Seems that with such a strong motor it would have done fine with a 20A controller like the one that the Big Bear has.

Why is it that the Rio FB only has a 17A controller?

The Big Bears' controller has 9 FETs.
the HL1260 Lishui controller integrated into the battery cradle has space for only 6 FETs. The maximum possible is 22A but Lishui and the factory have to guarantee their product, so we agree to set it to 17A-18A.
