Witchcraft, I tell you, it's witchcraft! What I'd like to see is an adaptor that will connect any 36v battery to any 36v bike - might create a little competition for sales and bring lower prices to ebikers. After all, any brand of petrol goes into any brand of car ... not the best analogy but something on those lines ...

We already have it, Tom. It's called wire.
Hah !
But I know what he means though

I imagine a Putty like substances (like Sugru) that you can squish into any old socket with two wires sticking in it which senses + and - , separates and insulates and hardens to gives you an instant perfect fitted connector

I know, keep on dreaming

when the bike is in storage, the battery can develop faults unless it is used a bit every week or two weeks. Can your engineer incorporate into this intelligent BMS an active discharge function that can be programmed via Android phone like sending 50WH into a resistor (or switch on a front 10W CREE light for an hour) every 2 weeks ?
Hang on a minute, once you can do that you can use the battery as an app co trolled powerpack for anything powered by usb

It almost becomes an IoT base station of sorts

Which would be cool

Sorry, that answer was a bit faecesious, but to be a bit more serious, it's surprisingly easy to adapt a bike to use a different battery. If anybody needs help with how to do it, just ask.
