The Olympic road race,why so dissapointing?

Not a dry eye in our house:eek:, on emotional overload, feeling quite exhausted, like I had participated in every event.....in my dreams:rolleyes:

nowadays it s all about tactics and technoligies, working hand in hand with science, the same as most sports all now teamwork less of ego, back in the 50/60s it was down to pure fitness, very rare you would be hanging on for slower riders, it is even reported that Coppi who went on to be one of the all time greats, overtook the tour when riding a shop bike..

I propose a new Olympic event - a pensioner only Dutch ebike event, during which the contestants must buy a copy of a broadsheet newspaper, a Dundee cake and consume a pint of real ale. They must stop and chat to at least four members of the public and demonstrate the advantages of the handlebar wicker basket. Remembering to charge their battery would carry a points advantage ... nurse!

Wasn't it an American paratrooper who was told to shout Geronimo as he left the aircraft? Ended up splattered on the ground because he couldn't remember the name of the injun! ... Old Joke not worn well with time I'm afraid! ... :eek:
