Naughty......but nice!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

50 miles on throttle alone....is that due just to 48 volt battery ?..if so why are that size and distance not around already at a fraction above normal cost ?

Nice idea but I don't see where the money has been spent, the components are all unbranded except for the SIS gear shift.
He also can't make his mind up about the battery, is it 10Ah or 20Ah. I'm guessing the former by the physical size.
Edit, the forks are branded but Google shows they are sold on sub £400 bikes.

The branding on the frame and battery look like they've been applied via photoshop too. Edit: okay, maybe not :)

Not just 'cos it's a 48 volt but I suspect because it lists it's capacity as 20 amps as well! Bear in mind a replacement battery of that spec will also cost a small fortune, (correction, scrub out: small). Although you would think it would 'only' achieve 20 to 25 miles at the listed speed of just under 20mph.

As luck would have it, I've just finished watching a YouTube clip, a (British), bloke videos himself on a 500watt e-bike (Cyclone motor conversion I think), travelling up to between 25mph and 32mph using only a 24 volt battery rated at 10 amps.

He complains he's only getting about 11 miles per charge!

The 500 watt bike in Blew-it's clip lists it as capable of 19.8mph RESTRICTED, (USA regulations). So if it was possible to derestrict it, then 25 to 30mph might be achievable too, on that 48V 20amp battery.

I've been looking at a couple of 'cheap' 500 watt kits on eBay rated to run with a more affordable 36 volt battery, but without any knowledge of the motor manufacturer, I'm just looking. Would suit a heavy rider like me IAMO. A rear wheel set-up would slot straight into the Salisbury. So by the time my Salisbury battery reaches the end of its useful lifespan and I come to splash out a couple of hundred, I can pause to reconsider before purchasing a replacement if - I hope, some brave souls have already taken the plunge, bought a 500 watt kit and reported their findings on here. Purely for off-road use you understand. Yes, off-road use only, I hope that's clear. Me? Use it on the roads? No, no, noooooooooo... You do believe me don't you? (If you did see me on the road with a 500 watt e-bike it would most likely be somebody else who resembled me as everyone knows I'd only use it off road). So, glad that's sorted then.

Riding on a 500 watt e-bike conversion -
YouTube - 500W Electric Bike Kit Motor E-Bike Conversion - Part 2

(He covers 2 miles at an average speed of 22.8mph according to his c/computer - on UK roads, so yes that makes him an outlaw)

2 years warranty on frame, 6 months on battery

It sems that even sellers of the most expensive bikes don't put their money were their mouth is re: batteries. The battery warranty on all bikes should be one year at least.

I lived in the Czech Republic for three years and everything over there must come with a two year warranty without exception! It just goes to show how much we get ripped off over here with extended warranties.

I think a few of the ebike resellers over here would have well and truely gone bust if they have had to offer a two year warranty with their batteries.

How many ebike resellers trade in the Czech Republic?

Spot on Keith!!

Well done Keith, You spotted the very thing that caught my eye, your a man with VISION!!.

The truth is, It's more of a reality than some might think, although Danny-K has picked up on it. The ability of the Suzhou Bafang to run happily on 48 volts has already been established, albeit with an up-rated controller. Perhaps I should mention, at 60 volts, the Bafang's nylon gears were unable to handle the increased torque, and sort of melted!!.

With a suitable controller, a good quality LiFePO4 such as Li Pings 48 volt 20 ah at around £280 and you would have a machine capable of around 24 mph, proportionately better hill climbing, and of course, greater range than a comparable 36 volt bike with the same battery capacity.

Again, Keith immediately twigged that the initial outlay would not be much greater than a 36 volt system. So you see folks, it's not quite the "the stuff of dreams"....A 25 mph Wisper 905 with a range of 40 + miles is entirely feasible!. Not a place to go if you prefer the cosy world of warranties and legalities.

Happy dreams

although you say what i wish for is possible Bob, i see no chance in hell of a manufacturer of coming up with such a bike as a)...you could only use it off road...;) b) the slight increase that was hoped for i bet would be near the £350-£500 mark...after all it has to be far greater then the price of the bikes around or they would never sell what they have got stock piled or in development... what i need is someone who wants the same as me, we might get the parts cheaper buying in bulk..(two..haha) he can put them together and i will supply the best tea and buscuits to keep him going while he is enjoying himself... WHAT DO YOU MEAN..THATS UNREASONABLE ?.. he would have the pleasure of building them, far more pleasure then i would get making the tea and watching him/her.......
