OK, just to change the mood a bit. I went out yesterday for a few miles and it was windy. I mean WINDY. It was a great feeling when I was going along a flat road for about .75 miles at 27 mph. I felt like a Tour de France rider. I even had a car following me about 10/15 yards back making no attempt to overtake. I think he was impressed.
Now as we're all aware you have to return home in the direction you have just come. All I can say is, thank God for the Electric bike. Those little Chinese hamsters did me proud.
The road I took home was about 3 miles long and is a gentle climb, normally I'm at about 15 mph without me doing much in the way of work. (I'm lazy) Yesterday I was doing 9 and 10 mph with me working. It was almost a gale against me.
So, I got home and went into the house. I looked like something the cat had dragged in and was all weather beaten. My loving wife looked at me and said. " I thought electric bikes stopped you getting sweaty and tired? " I said, " have you seen the how windy it was? " She calmly looked at me and said, " Yes, I was wondering why you were going out" The logic of women has us mere men well beaten.
Now if I'd done that on a non electric bike I reckon I'd have been in a taxi on the way home. I love my e-bike.
