Thinking of buying a Go Pro Camera?...

Hi Guys,

After being a Go Pro dealer for many years, times have moved on and there is a lot more competition for activity cameras on the market today.

I have many camera companies contacting me to sell their new cameras in store.
What I always look for aside from the actual quality of the camera recording, is the overall cost of the camera with all the little goodies that come along with it.. Mounts, cases etc etc. Because before you know it say for example the Go Pro, you spend a hefty sum on the camera itself, then £30 on this mount, £30 on that mount, £99 on a remote button, £80 on a rear screen etc. Before you know it you have bought every accessory under the sun, just for it to function in the way you want it to and spent hundreds in the process!

If you are thinking of buying a new action camera this year, look no further than this little baby.. Veho Website - Product Detail

When I first saw this I knew it would blow the Go Pro out the water. Not only because of the full HD 1080 recording quality, but because it features a rear built in LCD screen, its small and compact, and this Special Offer Bundle Kit they offer comes with a wireless remote included and every mount under the sun! The bundle kit is £220! -

I have bought a few of these as part of a QTY deal from my supplier, I saved 9% doing this, so all I will say is I will pass this discount onto forum members, bringing the bundle price down to £200!

Obviously if you would like to buy one I do have them here, but before I get the 'sales', 'trader this', 'trader that' remarks... Please remember I am taking the time to write this to make you aware of a such a great remarkable product.

In fact I own one my self, so that says something! I don't mind if you buy one from me or if you buy one from some one else, all I will say is snap one up while there at this bundle price, its a bloody brilliant deal! :)

I will be uploading some of my own footage as soon as I get a chance to edit it up.

£200...you're joking!

Agreed, it's an excellent camera, but not at that price.

Hi Blew it,

I think we have our wires crossed here, you (and your evans link) are referring to the same camera but not as part of the bundle kit - Veho Website - Product Detail

The Bundle kit also includes (on top of the accessories in your link) -
C-Protex Band £2.99
8GB micro SD Card £18.99
Waterproof Case £29.99
Helmet Front Mount £19.99
Universal Cradle Mounting Kit £29.99
Universal Helmet Mounting Kit £14.99
Universal 3M Adhesive Mounting Kit £10.00

So Yes you can buy the camera on the link at evans for £130 or you can buy the bundle pack with £127 worth of accessories for £200. Your choice. You may not need the waterproof case, all the mounts etc.

I suggest a look on the manufacturers site as opposed to a quick Google shopping search.

If you do a quick shopping search you can find the bundle kit here for £170.. Even better value :) -

Dave, looks like something I would expect to see monitoring the back of my shop! ;)
Good price though, always found the Chinese stuff on ebay to be of low quality, when I say low quality I dont mean 1080p etc. I mean overall lifespan of the camera, they also struggle with light differentiation, for example woodland riding in and out of trees and into the sun etc.

Good find mind!

I know exactly what comes in the bundle, I own one. The standard bundle comes with everything you have listed.

Here's another one, £117 delivered, leaving plenty of spare cash for waterproof housing and chest harness.

The image quality I get is excellent. You can read a car number plate at more than 100ft while moving.

Here's a bit of footage from the second one (the one with LCD screen) in my post above. You have to select 1080P in the pull-down bottom right of the image as the default is 240p. Youtube are fixing the shake at the moment. The result should be interesting. I hope it doesn't spoil the image quality. Lokk how clear the car numbers are when you pause it.

Wish we had cycle lanes like that down here in Hampshire!...
Yes, we are very lucky here in Swindon with over sixty miles of shared routes throughout the borough, many leading to rural cross-country trails.

The primary function of the video's, is to promote the "activity" rather than the individual brands involved. I have always believed the way forward to greater use of electric bikes, is to demonstrate how even old codgers such as myself can cruise along quietly and effortlessly with just a little electrical assistance....only onboard cams can give a true representation of how easy this is on an E-bike.

Editing the raw footage for presentation is of course something else again, and I wouldn't place myself any higher than just off the bottom of the learning curve....but my efforts are slowly improving.

Regarding the resolution used when recording rides. Many of my cams are capable of full 1080 HD, but there is little point in recording above 720p when the vids are destined for Youtube. Freebie accounts such as mine only allow playback at 720p 30fps maximum. We should also remember when recording at 1080 HD, the lens angle is much narrower requiring very precise aiming to get the desired framing. If, on the other hand, the video is destined for promotional viewing on a widescreen tv in a retail outlet, then by all means set the camera's at maximum resolution.

One thing I have noticed with the various cam manufacturers adverts on YouTube, is the application of enhancements during the editing process. Take for example the many promotional vids of the Gopro cams. As the owner of a Gopro Hero3, I can assure readers the native footage is very accurate in the natural colour rendering. Clearly, the videos presented on YouTube have been subjected to increased colour saturation during the video editing. This can be done with any good editing application.

Veho Muvi HD10.

You mentioned life expectancy of some of the available cameras. The lifespan of the Veho Muvi HD 10 is about three years due to it's internal non-replaceable battery. Good as it is, I know that in two years time I will have to bin it when the useable run-time is reduced by the natural calender ageing of the Lithium cell, this is why I prefer cams that use a removeable battery.

Looking forward to viewing your video.
Regards
Bob.

P.S.

.....popped into the local electric bike shop for a natter this afternoon. Had a drool over the magnificent Haibike eQ Xduro FS, that's one helluva a bike for those that can afford it...But I'm more than happy with my Haibike eQ Trekking.

Nice videos, I watched em all. Needs more talking/vlogging though :) and show the bikes like you did on the Bighit one.
Hi Spinalot, thanks for your kind words, very much appreciated.

I have taken on board your suggestions for future vids. I agree, more talking and less captions would make for a better presentation, I will certainly apply your recommendations to my next video.

I'm afraid I'm a bit of a duffer when it comes to communication platforms, please accept my apologies for not understanding "Vlogging".

More "stills" will also be incorporated into my new creations.

Kindest regards
Bob
