I am serious about buying an electric bike and want to try as many as I can. It seems the best place to view a selection of these bikes is London and there is an event at Redbridge on August 24.
I have an idea to go to 50 Cycles and view/test the Kalkhof bikes and go to the London Electric place and view/test the Kudos and KTM bikes,I want a mountain style bike, mainly for leisure....are there any other shops I should go to in London?
I saw in one of the postings that Woosh have supply problems and cannot supply until October, does anyone know if other bike sellers will be at Redbridge, cant find much about the event.
I dont know London well,is it easy to get to Redbridge by train and is it an easy trip across London out to Kingston by train?
Appreciate all your help,is anyone else going to Redbridge?

How to get to Redbridge:

http://www.redbridgecyclingcentre.co.uk/

The nearest stations are Grange Hill and Hainault tube on the Central line.

I think 50 Cycles (Kalkhoff, Focus) will be at Redbridge.
Woosh have short supply on popular models, the bikes sell out before the next delivery arrives so they run a backorder on the following: Big Bear (but not Big Bear LS), Santana CD (but not Santana CDL), Zephyr CD/CDN and the Gale. They'll catch up in September. The other problem they have is with the introduction of 4 new bikes, originally scheduled for July but now postponed until end of September or beginning October, so the new bikes won't make Redbridge.

Cyclezee will be there too, but don't let that put anyone off going:)

Hi Steve,

If you can make it we will be having an open day on the 10th of August, its also a great day out as it coincides with the Hampton Wick Festival and The London Prudential bike ride, see here http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/happy-1st-birthday-lebc.18495/#post-228866

All the best

Tom
Thanks Tom,I have decided to visit on the 10th,bring the kids up as well. The bikes i want to test are the Kudos Tornad and Typhoon, not sure if my height is right for which bike? Will you have those bikes to test? Do you know if 50 Cycles are open that day?Would also like to try a KTM hub drive bike, which one do you recommend?

Hi Blackgold.

We are organising the event and will have all our best sellers there on demo.
50 cycles will also be there as well as Cyclezee, as you probably know, and hopefully 2 or 3 other companies - so you will be able to try a good range. Would be good to see you.
The venue is excellent - easily accessible, free, with good parking, great track, toilets and cafe, plus fantastic views of the London skyline.
Well worth coming to!

Where did you get the October delivery date from BTW?
Most of our models are in stock or if not, arriving August......

Hi Steve,

I'll have the full range of Kudos bikes to try on the day (in fact any day they are all here to try) and a bonus for you will be that Kudos's owner himself (Kudos Dave) will be on hand to help and give advice. Not sure of your height but the Tornado is a medium size frame and suits a 5ft5 up to around 6ft, the Typhoon is a bigger bike with 29" wheels and I find very comfortable being 6ft2.

As for the KTM hub bikes the eCrossP is a favourite, very powerful 47volt battery pushes this bike and rider to the limit very quickly but you always feel in control, its a great bike to ride, a very powerful hill climber as is any of the bikes we stock with a BPM motor.

As for 50cycles being open on the day I don't know, maybe give them a call to find out?

Look forward to seeing you on the 10th, all the best,

Hatti, thanks, but Redbridge may be a bit of a trek for me,I got the October delivery date from Trex posting, copy below.

din, if you have to face this sort of hills, you need the Big Bear, the Oxygen or one of the Ezee bikes. dmsims has the Big Bear LS. Woosh have supplies problem this year, all the new bikes are shipped out in September, arriving October.

I can see the confusion now. The 'new bikes' should have been written as 'new models'.
apologies to you both.
