Can't find 'em anywhere.
So I decided to do some painting of the side gate, it was geting quite rusty and the black paint starting to peel off, so I thought on Saturday last I'd re paint.
I put the wire brush, the bottle of Kurust and the tin of Hammerite on the top of the brick post next to the gate, and took my glasses off too as I don't need them for close work. During the painting the lady who delivers the free paper came along with what I presume were her three daughters, they stopped at the gate and chatted and went on their way, at the finish of the job, (Kurust only), I went to pick up the brush and tin of paint etc and the glasses, and they weren't there, they had vanished, I've looked everywhere, of course at the bottom of the post both sides, all around the garden -though I'm sure I hadn't moved them from the post, looked in the house, the garage, asked a neighbour, all to no avail, a complete mystery, now I just wonder if one of the three girls pinched them, I can't think why but there doesn't seem any other explanation. I lke them when cycling for improved sight of course and to protect the eyes from road dust etc.
I've ordered two pairs of ''Reactions'' which should be ready this coming Saturday, so I'll where one on the New Foreat ride, but where are the original pair?!
I'm not light fingered at all, but years ago when I was about 11 years old I pinched a fisherman's's reel he had beside him on the river bank, I dropped it after about 100 yards, and have never done anything like it since, just a silly, small boy's prank, but perhaps this is the Good Lord paying me back after all those years?

Where the heck is Seataltea when we need him?.

Well like you did when you was a kid they probably took the stuff and then dropped around the first corner. Also check the wheelie bins in the first backalley you come to!.

And for revenge you should steal her paperbag next week!.

My wife lost her glasses 12 months ago. They were very expensive designer glasses and have since been replaced. She was sure they'd been nicked. They turned up today in her glove compartment:eek:
I hope yours turn up :)

and the glasses, and they weren't there, they had vanished,
Did you turn your back long enough for a magpie to have snatched them? They can be very acquisitive when seeing anything that shines, sparkles or reflects light.

Magpies and Glasses

No, I didn't see any Magpies Flecc, I mainly get Wood Pigeons, Blackbirds and the odd Greenfinch, My Mother used to say a magpie on a roof is a sign that the occupant is near to death, well it certainly was death for those glasses, at least in my posession.
Never mind, I'll 'phone the opticians tomorrow (Friday) and see if the two new pairs are ready, thanks for your thoughts.

I must die dozens of times a day, we are infested with magpies round here. They plague the golfers on a nearby course, pinching balls off the fairway, thinking they are eggs they can eat! In their latest developments they've even learnt to sideways perch on my bird feeders and eat peanuts:

I thought Christ was the only one to have been resurected!
Wasn't Lazarus resurrected?

The Magpie theory does require just one magpie and it must be on a roof. Also it doesn't necessarily mean the death of the viewer, but someone in the vicinity, or connected to the viewer, in the near future.
