I have a ticky tick noise that I'm pretty sure is a spoke as I've experienced this before. Have checked none are broke or loose, tension isn't totally even though due to truing a couple times, this probably triggered the noise. Anything else to check before I put a drop of oil on everything to silence them?

Check again more thoroughly and check it's not the disk touching the camper if you have one.
Caliper - bloody smartphone auto-correcting again.

It's not the disk. I've backed them off a bit and retrued with as equal tension as possible, still quite off as there are two decent sized dents in there. Then I've tightened the whole wheel as tight as feels safe to do so. The noise has stopped and it's as true as it will go, I have some hop but don't think that will come out without really screwing the tension up, don't think this will survive any more big knocks without a new rim

Sounds like you've done what you can. With your rim being damaged, a rebuild is prob. the only way to go.

Yeah it feels solid for now, when it starts acting up again I'll try my hand at building one, already had some practice on an old wheel
