Just thought I would post latest info I have in case anyone needs it in the future.
The battery for this bike is no longer available and its a 28.4 not a 24v as I thought.
So indeed the only solution would be to replace the cells in it if possible.
A company recommended by Tiger cycles to do this is PMBL tel:0870 770 5311
I dont know if any members have any experience of them ?

I've never heard of them Lynda, but definitely go with them if the price is acceptable since very few offer this service now.

That 28.4 volts is odd though and I know of no e-bike that's ever used such a voltage. NiMh cells are nominally 1.2 volts each, twenty of them making the 24 volts on most bikes using them. Using 24 cells would bring it to 28.8 volts.

New one to me too Flecc, maybe the guy at tigercycles has made a mistake and that it is actually 28.8, but he has written 28.4 so I have passed the info on to my sister in law along with your other recommendation for changing the cells.
Just goes to show though, doesn't it, how important it is for people to buy from reputable sellers selling reputable long lasting makes, who keep spare parts in stock although I have to say i am impressed with Tigercycles quick reply.
Glad I bought a powacycle though.....at least now I have the choice to replace the batteries when needed or not !
