Tongxin Controller

The Tongxin controller has some fins on the cover which makes me think it's designed to prevent overheating.

Is that the case and in turn the controller needs to be mounted in an open airstream position on the bike, or could it be secured in place in a box along with battery and be neater or would it then be likely to overheat.

No idea about the heat Andy but Cytronex have it positioned under the crankset. I Never notice it.

Tongxin controllers have a reputation for burning out. A year or two ago they all used to go quite quickly, even when not covered up. Tongxin seem to have improved them now, but I wouldn't take any chances and put it where it will get maximum air cooling.
