Having read the sorry tale about the Carerra Suntour torque sensing system (New Bike entry below) I am wondering about the (apparently low-cost) system fitted to my recently bought Decathlon Riverside 500E? I have to say so far I am happy with the riding effect - its not perfect for example slight surging at times when resuming pedalling but giving a level of support I like and being economical on the battery (about 60 mile 'normal' capacity on modest S Leicestershire terrain). I haven't heard of any particular problems in Europe where it has been popular for some time, and should the torque sensor need replacing by Decathlon they seem to be suggesting from ~£25 for similar. Any comments?
