Finding my (electric) wheels

Hi,

I am just getting into this electric bike malarky and am waiting on delivery of a freego eagle (good or bad I will let you know). I am considering a cargo trailer to help me carry cricket gear and other stuff around.

Any recommendations or anything to be careful of?

Welcome any advice

Thanks

Rob

Not too sure about trailers, but I too would be interested to read avice from others as well.

The Freego Eagle looks interesting - very bold claims about it's range, I suspect a pinch of salt may be neccessary, but would like to hear your experiences once you've had it for a while.

Most trailers work fine, but if you intend to carry large weights such as over 30 kilos, avoid a seat-stem hitch, a side hitch with be more stable. Equally, with larger weights, avoid "springy" couplings which stretch since they can cause unpleasant fore and aft snatching of the trailer weight when riding, making the handling feel insecure.

Two wheel trailers are easier to couple, carry more and are most stable when low. However, the upright type trailers like the Bike Hod are very compact and convenient if weights to be carried are moderate.

The Yak type single wheel trailer doesn't carry so much and has a more complex coupling, but it banks and handles like the solo bike.
