Just a thought but does anyone commute with an e-bike to a station?

If so what do you do about security - particularly the battery. I occasionally take a train and it is an easy 10 mile ride to the station but I have never used the normal bike as I don't want to arrive hot an sweaty and sit next to some poor person for 2 hours.

Hence I thought the e-bike would be helpful for this. Last time I was at the station I saw about 300 bikes parked - not one e-bike that I could see.

The battery would be a heafty wieght to carry to London and back in addition to the laptop.

if you are leaving the bike in same place day in day out you are really increasing the risk of theft exponentially.

2 locks, one hefty chain that can be left at station permanently, and a top quality D lock with cable for wheels. Sorry but removing the battery is a no brainer IMO. An e bike without keys, battery and charger is not so attractive sales wise as the complete bikes parked around it...

Converted electric Brompton....10 miles to the station, take it on the train with me, then another 4 miles at the other end. Working great so far...600 miles on it in just over a month!

You have me worried, I sometimes leave mine at the station. I use 2 high quality D Locks through both frame and wheels to secure it onto the post but no chain. I have another loop that goes through frame and seat etc. I always park at the same place since there are cameras and a very annoying movement centre that inititiates a loud recorded message advising of the cameras and monitoring 14 hours a day. I wondered about an alarm but the forum comments put me off that idea.

I have read a lot of posts and viewed u-tube on securing bikes, ditto for the ease that some locks can be accessed. But what other options are there if you want to use your bike for commute to station, it's one of the reasons I had for buying it? I would be happy to invest in improving the security of it so any advice would be welcome.
