Err, yeah...light weight and not clunky with light weight frame and tires.... Even without the battery he's going to be some 6Kg ~ 8Kg heavier than the best bikes.... better start training real hard. And yes I know several guys who have done the London Triathlon using lightweight road bikes...

I was thinking of doing a local triathlon using my Pro Connect, minus battery. After thinking about it for a few nano-seconds longer, I decided that it was a ridiculous idea. Electric bikes (some) are good at being electric bikes. If you want to ride a bike without electrical assistance, buy a non electric bike.

I think it is a mini tri he is talking about.

A local guy did a triathlon on an adult scooter but then he was not trying to use it as some sort of advertising to sell his bikes.

Big chunky tyres for a triathlon bike.....Come on someone lend him their Canondale :Ø) An electric bike that will keep up with the real sportsmen.

Hi Chaps:

He is doing it to prove a couple of things:

1- E-bikes have come of age and are no longer big chunky ugly machines.
2- Also to do something different and raise more money for charity. Last year he rode a mountain bike to get exposure. Its not about keeping up, its about competing and raising more cash! Give the guy some credit...

Thanks
Mark
