I like the SA hub gear used the way it is. Never thought of that.

Be aware if you try it yourself, I tied the idea out back a few years, putting 2 cogs back to back on the the gear with a deralieur on a winter hack bike , usefull gear range, but the axle snapped, coz of the loads ,still it was an old wheel with a drum brake fitted, idea was to have a winter commute bike with stopping ability , needed a longer axle I was told, which would have been hard to find .

I like the SA hub gear used the way it is. Never thought of that.

Ah… that may have been me.

I was originally looking for an e-trike for a friend who had suffered a stroke to try. He then decided that he might prefer a recumbent e-trike but we were unable to locate one that was convenient.

However, due to a change of circumstances, the idea has now had to be put on hold for a while.

TGA mobility discontinued their e-bikes and trikes nearly three years ago and will give no support for spares etc, so this could be a problematic buy.
