Hi everyone,

We'll shortly have two new models aimed at riders at either end of the spectrum:

1) For the mega fit who want to pedal as much as possible: the upgraded Woosh Sport TS with built-in torque sensor to replace the throttle, adjustable stem, 60mm travel forks, 36V 9AH black bottle battery, sine wave controller, 18-speed and small block eight tyres. Price: £749 including free delivery.

and.......

2) the definitely not so fit , the truly laid back and the 'stockily built'! Almost a motorbike, with steady, comfy ride and great hill climbing the upgraded Woosh Sirocco 2 'Big Bear' has a big front drive, Suntour NCX seat post (yummy) , 36V 15AH battery, King Meter with 5 levels of assistance, new sine wave controller, adjustable stem, 60mm travel forks, chunky tyres. Price: £849 including free delivery.

Comments most welcome.

If it's got 250w stamped on it, it's legal. It looks like the 250w Bafang BPM to me. I don't know why Alien don't put the rear version in the Aurora, then it would be legal too.

I personally would not mind if it had the same spec as the Auora, in fact it would make it more desirable, and would be top of my list for my second venture. Love at first sight

It is basically the same spec as the Aurora. The motor i'm sure will be the same power. The Woosh has a bigger battery to allow more current. The only thing that's not clear yet is the winding speed of the motor. A 201 rpm one will give a top speed of about 18 mph and very efficient climbing. The Aurora has about 270 rpm to reach higher speeds.

The aurora has 21-speed, the big bear only 7.
It's an interesting idea to use a parallelogram seat pin to give the bike the comfort of a full-sus. Maybe more suppliers will take up the idea.

Exactly the reason eZee bikes have only one chainring.
It just means if you run out of battery or your controller conks etc. you're somewhat stuffed :)

Why not take a spare battery or controller with you then, or a spare wheel in case you hit a pot-hole, or a chain-saw in case a tree falls down and blocks the road, and an inflatable dinghy in case of flash floods?

The Big Bear has a 15aH battery that should give a reasonable range. It's not as if it'll suddenly run out on your way to the shops.

It's fine for people who are always going to be riding their bikes powered and always want to. A bit like direct drive motors for different reasons. Point is for buyers to take into consideration ?

Another good point , Alex, but I can't see those people that like to pedal without power choosing a bike with a massive high-torque motor and large battery. Surely, they would choose one of the Woosh Sports that do have triple chain-wheels? As it says in the description above, "for... the definitely not so fit".

Sadly the 20" frame is to big for me, as I am only 5' 6". Are you planning to do a smaller frame version? as then I would be very interested in the Big Bear to review and buy. as it seems to tick all the boxes except the 20" frame size

Maybe so ... unless they ride lots of hills. I pedal long stretches without power but when I do want it I'm grateful for high power and torque. It's also in those conditions where an electric fault or low voltage cutout would leave me struggling with just a big chainring.

There's always recovery I guess ... wonder if running out of battery roadside would count as "irreparable breakdown of your bike" :) :

Hi Jasper,

No, you're right - the Big Bear has a 20" frame which is just too big for you. The lowest the saddle will go is 95cm above ground.
You really need to be 5 ft 8" or taller. No imminent plans to supply in a smaller frame size (really intended for 'larger' riders) but we'll see.

Here is the perfect solution for Jasper............stylish too, maybe you should offer them as an optional extra Hatti;)

Only the big uns get to WOOSH up the hills, while we the vertically challenged will have to walk, there must be a .... ism(?) i should be miffed about, I would look it up in the dictionary, but it's on the top shelf;)
