Two new hub bikes from Woosh

Sorry to bang a well used drum, but there is no way that the 'big bear' can be described as suitable for bigger riders. A 20" frame with 26" wheels is yet another medium sized bike suitable for people around 5'8" - 6'. Surely there is a gap in the market for a ready made, road legal electric bike (with a throttle) with a 23" frame & 700c wheels suitable for us lanky ones around here.

Asides from that, they look nice bikes, I just long for the day when these bikes come in a decent range of frame sizes, not just the bog standard one size fits all approach.

You can be bigger sideways as well as bigger upwards. I think that's what Hatti means.

below link for Chain reactions now the largest on line retailer the 29 er is a much larger frame it is about 6 inch longer than a 26 inch

I'm sure that's true. I'm going to take a look at the bikes tomorrow as Woosh seem pretty well regarded on here and whilst the Sirocco CDL with a 20" frame and 28" wheels is perhaps not my ideal size, it looks as suitable as anything legal that's available right now....

Hi Hatti,

I'm put off by the 26" wheel size on the 'big bear'. I think a 20" frame would only work for me with 28" wheels, otherwise the big bear would look a possibility. Ideally I would need a 23" frame size with 28" wheels and a high handlebar position, such as I have with my non electric bike. But in the current market the CDL looks of some interest.

Besides, if you're putting the kettle on I'll be there anyway

Hi Jasper,

No, you're right - the Big Bear has a 20" frame which is just too big for you. The lowest the saddle will go is 95cm above ground.
You really need to be 5 ft 8" or taller. No imminent plans to supply in a smaller frame size (really intended for 'larger' riders) but we'll see.

A further question, the 95cm is that the top of saddle to the ground, ie: crutch to floor? My present bike's saddle position is measured at 93cm(which came as a surprise) due to a extended seat post frame to accommodate battery and I have no probs with that, I do have to be in the standing position when stationary. I assume a low profile saddle would reduce the 95cm down to even lower than my present bike, it would mean removing the original set up and replacing seat post if that is possible ?

Does that mean you sell the removed Suntour NCX Suspension Seatpost for £50-00 (plus delivery of course)? I can think of a few folk who might want one including myself

Bit of Big Bear confusion......

Specs on the Woosh site say the Big Bear is "Shimano 7-speed" and also says "3 chainring Shimano front derailleur (18-speed)" Link Here

So is it 7 or 18 or 21 gears........

I know Hatti has also put the specs earlier in this thread saying 7 speed so I guess that's right?
