Hello all. I've done a quick search on tyres and come across lots of general information but I'm looking for something more specific.

I have an Izip Trailz bike with the usual knobbly tyres. I would like to change them for road only tyres as the bike is only used for the station commute.

Can some kind soul recommend some tyres that would be suitable?

I'm a bit of a duffer when it comes to these things and I'm getting more and more confused with the different tyre sizes so any help there would be appreciated.

regards

The Gents Trailz uses 26" x 1.9" tyres, the Ladies model (step-through) uses 26" x 2", but any tyres in the range from 26 x 1.75 to 26 x 2 will suit and be comfortable, and I'd recommend 26" x 1.75" for road use.

To give the maximum resistance to punctures the Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres are ideal, but they are expensive at around £26 each list price. An alternative that gives very good puncture resistance is the Continental Contact Security tyre listed at around £19.

For a more moderate price with normal puncture resistance, the Continental Cityride tyre is very free rolling and ideal for your journey, and is listed at £13.75 each.

All these Schwalbe and Continental tyres can be bought at discounts.

P.S. Crossed with Mussels post.
